Terms of Use
Effective October 27, 2026 · PROB30 (website and iPhone app)
Reference only. Not for navigation. PROB30 is not an official weather briefing and does not replace official sources, your flight planning, or your judgement as pilot in command.
1. Who we are
PROB30 is published by Last Chance Labs (Paul Michael Lachance, Canada), info@lastchancelabs.com. By using PROB30 you agree to these terms. On the iPhone, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Apple EULA) also applies; if the two differ, the Apple EULA governs the licence itself.
2. Reference only: your responsibility
- Weather, NOTAMs, airport data, frequencies, diagrams, calculators, hold and entry guidance, wind components and everything else in PROB30 are provided as a convenience for reference. They can be late, incomplete, out of date or wrong, including because a source is down or a computation was entered wrongly.
- Always check official sources before and during flight (for example NAV CANADA, the FAA and your flight service, the current Canada Flight Supplement or Chart Supplement, official NOTAM search, your aircraft's approved documents). PROB30 is not approved for navigation or as a required briefing.
- The pilot in command is solely responsible for the flight and for decisions made with the help of this tool.
- The PROB30 logbook is a personal record for your convenience. You are responsible for keeping backups and for meeting your regulator's record-keeping rules. The AI Logbook Scanner reads pictures with AI and can misread digits: check every entry before you save it.
2a. Features that cover the US
Some features use US data and are labelled US in the app: US NOTAMs, US charts (VFR sectional, terminal area, IFR enroute low and high), US airspace and TFRs, US airport diagrams, US frequencies, US D-ATIS and tap-to-call ATIS, and US SIGMET, AIRMET, G-AIRMET and CWA layers. They are built from FAA and NOAA data and are for reference only, like everything else in PROB30.
3. Subscription (iPhone app)
- PROB30 Yearly is an auto-renewing subscription: 7-day free trial, then CA$29.99 per year (price shown in your currency in the App Store). The free trial is offered once per Apple ID.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase, or after the free trial ends. The subscription renews automatically each year at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Manage or cancel it any time in iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel it. Refund requests are handled by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com).
- Use Restore Purchases on the subscription screen to recover your subscription on a new device. The website version of PROB30 is separate and has no subscription.
- Prices and trial terms may change in the future; changes follow Apple's rules and notice requirements.
4. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, attempt to overload or disrupt it, scrape it automatically at scale, or resell it. We may limit requests to keep it fair for everyone (for example the AI Logbook Scanner has a usage limit).
4a. AI Logbook Scanner
The AI Logbook Scanner reads a picture you choose, either of a page of your past personal pilot logbook or of the day's aircraft journey log, by sending that one picture to an AI vision service (see the Privacy Policy). Only scan logs you own or have permission to copy. Aircraft journey logs and tech logs usually belong to the operator: scan one only if your employer or the operator allows you to copy it, and follow their rules. Do not use the scanner on ACARS or other cockpit screens. You are responsible for what you scan and send. A log page can show other people's names; only send pages you are allowed and comfortable to send to be read. By using the scanner you confirm that you own the log or have permission to copy it. The AI can misread values: check every entry before you save it.
5. Data sources and ownership
The PROB30 app, its design and its code belong to Last Chance Labs. Third-party data (NOAA, FAA, Environment and Climate Change Canada, MET Norway, OurAirports, OpenStreetMap contributors and others) remains theirs and is used under their open terms. Your logbook content is yours.
6. No warranty and limit of liability
PROB30 is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, Last Chance Labs is not liable for any loss, damage or injury arising from the use of, or inability to use, PROB30 or from any information shown in it. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited by law.
7. Privacy
See the Privacy Policy.
8. Changes and contact
